SSLC IT PRACTICAL EXAMINATION MARCH 2009 - Invigilators Training

Make these arrangements in your own school before you going to conduct exam in other school

1. Arrange work books as Register Number Order attach Printout of Mark sheet with them.
2. Delete all unwanted files and folders – except Desktop folder
3. Clean Desktop and Trash, Avoid applets on Panel.
4. Through Synaptic Package Manager Uninstall Previous Exams.

For one Invigilator should monitor 3 computer, For one computer 5 students should do exam (3 x 5 = 15 students/day for one invigilator 6-7 hours)
1. According to this you have to schedule a Time Table Table – Register No wise.(P3)
2. Through H.M give a letter to KSEB for ensuring Power supply.

File Mode Installation

a) Copy 'itexam-debs' (13 files) through pen drive or network into the Home folder.

b) Through 'Root Terminal' type the following cammand
#gedit /etc/apt/sources.list
(gedit is a command so after gedit there should be a space, through this gedit file will open)

c) Delete only the line contain deb cdrom – itexam, if different kinds of itexam installed previously through cd rom more lines may be there, in that case you have to delete concerned lines
eg. 'deb cdrom:[itexam-4.1]/itexam-debs/ /'

d) Put cursor at bottom for typing a new command on the previously open gedit file, and type the command 'deb file:///root/itexam-debs ./'
eg. deb file:///home/jobson/itexam-debs ./ (after the first word 'deb' a space is needed also after the last word 'itexam-debs')
e) Save the gedit file & close.

f) In root terminal type the command 'apt-get update' (after get a space is needed through this we can upgrade the repositories.
Next steps
Desktop -->Administration --> Synaptic Package Manager -->Click on search icon --> in search type 'itexam' (look in should be 'name' or 'Description and Name' -->click on search -->select the appropriate mode (lite mode for older version) and right click for 'mark for instalation' -->click on apply.
After installation the exam icon should be in 'Accessories' menu. Click and drag the icon from the menu to desktop, you will get the Icon for exam and register the exam. (computer ID should be different for each computer)

NET WORKING (if pendrive is available & possible you can use pendrive for backup data, if you are conducting in user user previlagaus should given)
1. Ethger net card IP address should be changed
eg. 192.168.0.1 (zero class)
2. delete Gate way address ie BSNL server IP address 192.168.1.1
3. Delete in DNS the same ie BSNL server
To connect other computer

Places -->Connect to Server -->Make service type as 'SSH' -- >in server -TYPE THE IP ADDRESS OF THE COMPUTER want to connect –port type 22 – folder (no need only optional) – name to use for connection (type the computer ID)-->Connect
(A folder will mount in your computer)
Important for examination
1. Export Every day from every Computer and you should keep a back up file in to a cd from every computer every day.
2. Import all data into the server computer except its own backup after finishing all practical exam.
3. Mark absentees separated by coma , in absentees colum.
4. Take Print out and check whether every students mark and the number of absentees. (Don't mark IED students as absentees)
5. Make sure no of students are tally.
6. Final export only in the server computer only in the last day after finishing all practical exam checking & verifying the printout.
7. Write the file into the CD.

After Examination
1. P8,P9&P10 to DEO
2. Result CD, Print Out, P8 to P Bhavan – it should subit on March 6 at D.EO
(P8 one copy tp P Bhavan & one to D.E.O)
P3-Time table
P4 – Signature of students (Invigilator)
P5 – Mark of students (Invigilator)

Very Important
The students will not close the windows, only minimizing – closing the window only After adding Marks by the Invigilator. This message can be made as poster for warning & allarming your studets.
